Natasha Tracy

I’m extremely pleased to announce that Healthista, the health channel for women, has listed me the Bipolar Burble as one of 10 Health Blogs to Start Reading Right Now.

This doesn’t just make me happy because it stroked me ego (although it does), it makes me happy because the lovely folks over at Healthista haven’t forgotten about such an important aspect of health — mental health. And I have to say, so many lists do. I mean, I’m all for healthy eating and running (although I’d rather die) but everyone has a brain and it’s great to see a list that acknowledges that we should take care of it.

Bipolar Burble has been listed as a top 10 health blog. It's a health blog that, according to Healthista, you have to start reading now!

Healthista, quite generously, and, I think, correctly, says that the Bipolar Burble is for anyone — with a mental illness or not to gain better understanding of what people with a mental illness go through. And if that was a message I could get out to the whole Internet, I would.

So I would like to personally thank Healthista for their inclusion. I’m honoured.

(If you’d also like to read a piece I wrote for them a while back, check out, The Moment I Realized I Had Bipolar Disorder.)

Natasha, selfishly I am so glad you are recognized because hopefully you can continue to be here. Whenever I am looking for reassurance, because I just unwisely discussed with the wrong person, or am just teetering between zones – your site grounds me because I know you are the real deal. We share a similar diagnosis and history so that helps me to feel somewhat connected to something.

I admire your strength and courage. I have so much I would like to do and share but ultimately it takes such a bizarre toll and just verifies what all my professionals advise against. It is like a virus that knows how to defend itself and the harder you try the worse it gets.

I will keep trying to lift and support others in my local way the best I can.

I will continue to support and share your work because we need people like you.

    Hi Natasha –

Just wanted to say two things. First… Congratulations on being named as a Top 10 Health Blog! That is really an awesome accomplishment. And one I think is very well-deserved too.

The second thing I want to say is “Thank You!” Your Bipolar Burble blog has helped and is helping a LOT of people out there, including me, who are trying to figure out how to deal with this illness, whether it is an illness they have themselves or it is something a loved one of theirs has – or in my case an ex-fiancee. I have learned a lot from reading your blog, and I appreciate all the work and time you put into it.

OK.. here’s a third thing. I think you are an inspiring example to all of us, whether we have bipolar or know someone who does. You are amazing and I am sure I am not the only one who greatly admires you for being able to do what you do.

Keep up the good…. make that GREAT… work!

Congratulations Natasha! I look forward to your emailed blogs…unlike most. Each subject challenges me to reflect on the topic and then respond to you and others here. It is refreshing to share with other individuals who are bipolar.

    Natasha,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. Your answer will suffice.

I know how much you’ve struggled based upon your writings and leaving a regular paycheck and corporate position certainly is not easy. Apparently you’re managing somehow and hopefully you will continue to improve upon your medical and financial situation while remaining an inspiration and beacon of hope to others.

As a long-time reader of your essays I continue to wish you wellness and all the good you’d wish for yourself and others.

    Sincerely,
    Herb

I don’t think Natasha has been for sale at any time in the past. As long as she stands her ground I have no worries. I hope she does make it clear that bi-polar and MI in general isn’t just a disorder of women but men and others as well.
Any one from true death etc. trying to discredit her is done dishonestly. Questions from the likes of these individuals is to be not just ignored but treated with disgust. Women like Natasha may make mistakes. Those who I speak of when they make mistakes it’s honesty that slips out not the reverse. Good luck Natasha and be wary of the scum. WN

      Hi Herb,

I don’t generally discuss money but I will say that I’m only a mental health speaker and writer and I still make my mortgage payments, so there’s that :)
