Natasha Tracy

Hi all. I try not to overly promote my events on this bipolar blog so the Bipolar Burble blog can focus on content, but this time I thought a couple of things deserved a word: a speaking engagement you can all attend for free and an award that I’m a little proud of.

Natasha Tracy Speaking on Blog Talk Radio

So, this Sunday, January 5th at 4 PM PST (7 PM EST) I will be talking to MissADD. As she says:

Interview with Natasha TracyPlease join me this coming Sunday, January 5, 2014, as I welcome to the show Natasha Tracy. She is an award-winning writer and speaker from the Pacific Northwest. She specializes in writing about bipolar disorder, depression, pharmacology, and other mental health issues. Her expertise has been sought after by academics and reporters, she is to be featured in an upcoming documentary on bipolar disorder, and she has been a speaker at the National Council Mental Health and Addictions conference. She was named the second most influential online depression writer by Sharecare.com. Natasha and I will be discussing Bipolar disorder and ADHD. She will be talking about her own diagnosis with bipolar disorder, and how she has learned to embrace this, and approach it from a positive place. We will also be discussing tips for enlightening us to be able to understand what bipolar disorder is, and the best way to treat it. Natasha will also discuss Mindfulness, and how it has changed her life!

It’s going to be an informal conversation and I hope you’ll be part of it by calling in to (917) 889-7025.

I’m really excited about it and I hope to hear the voices of some of you folks so we can “meet,” as it were.

Mental Health Influential Natasha TracySocial HeathMakers in the Category Mental Health

It was recently announced that I’m the fourth most influential social HealthMaker according to Sharecare.com. You might remember that I made their list for the most influential in the category of depression, but now I’ve made it all the way to making changes mental health wide.

And what’s a HealthMaker? Well, according to Sharecare:

If you or a loved one suffers from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) or other mental illness, you know how important finding the right support can be. These Top 10 Social HealthMakers are here to help through their blogs and websites, sharing valuable tips and resources for managing mental illness.

And the incredible thing? All the other folks on the list have letters after their name. I think that’s amazing recognition for what I do and I’d like to thank Sharecare for extending me this honor.

What If Your Emotional Pain Is Trying to Protect You?

I’m never going to call bipolar pain a “gift.” Most days, I just want it to stop. But emotional and even physical pain aren’t always random torture—they’re often trying to tell us something. This piece digs into what your pain might be saying, how to listen, and how that can make living with it just a little easier.

What a great show Natasha. You did so well! I’m glad I caught it, as there’s an ice/snow storm over here and we all fear a black out. :(
I hope this leads the way for a series w/ Miss ADD. We need All topics covering these co-morbid conditions.
You’re really dedticated in helping us all to air out, our problems. Thank you!
More good luck to you. xoxox

ps–please forgive my last anal post, I became psyched when I saw the subject matter.
It even bothered me that I forgot the ‘t’ in ‘the timer’. Am I crazy? Yes, I’m crazy.

Congratulations Natasha!! Sending you light and energy for your interview! I know it is the last thing I could do if I was depressed (if I ‘was’ha – my negativity reigns lol) I know I, and so many others are SO GRATEFUL for the info you share with us- we would likely not get it elsewhere with such a ‘Sister in Survival’ outlook. Thank you for staying so Down to Earth!

Dear Natasha, Thank you SO much for discussing this topic on your first show. I have tried to look into it as an adult-but I’m always swayed to the kids section, as it seems to be found mostly in children.
    Books offer way too little.
Out of all of the perks my bipolar has left me to live with, ADHD is by far and away the most painful. It began as a child and no one noticed. I’d only noticed it in retrospect, since I’ve been diagnosed. I’m not present anymore. I’ve been gone for a long time now. I write messages on the top of my hand to remember that I have to put the laundry in the dryer when we come back home. My bath tub has over flowed 3 times already. I forget to use he timer.
Often, I have to read a page from a book, 3 times more. And many times- I don’t recall what I’ve even read. I’ll be writng and when I read what I’ve written it appears all jumbled or ill explained. Remember a number? I’d sooner fly a plane. I can organize nothing. Nothing new- seems to be remembered. I have such a hard time paying attention as I try to listen to another speak to me. I can drift off.
I do take a ‘mind fogging’ drug but no other drug regulates my moods w/o making me physically ill.
Many times, I’ve asked my doctor if I have altzheimers–“no” he says. “It’s the bipolar, the ADHD and your stress level.” Now where do I go? I need help. More for this, than my bipolar. I hate it, I hate me, I hate my brain. someone help me. txoxox
